koji rade na preko stotinu nacionalnih i međunarodnih projekata kao i u međunarodnim naučnoistraživačkim kolaboracijama u kojima je Republika Srbija član

The “Vinča” Institute had the honor of hosting representatives of the Embassy of the United States of America in the Republic of Serbia on January 14, 2026: Matthew Andris, Head of the Economic Section, Sally Meyers, Deputy Head of the Economic Section, and Dejan Gajić, Economic Specialist.

The Embassy delegation was welcomed by representatives of the “Vinča” Institute, led by the Institute’s Director, Dr. Slavko Dimović.

During the meeting, Director Dr. Dimović presented the development trajectory of the “Vinča” Institute, as well as its modern capacities and achievements in the fields of science, technological development, and innovation. The Institute’s multidisciplinary nature and its ability to connect scientific research with practical applications in industry, medicine, and energy were particularly emphasized, along with ongoing cooperation with international partners.

Discussions focused on the long-term energy prospects of the Republic of Serbia, with particular attention to considering nuclear energy as part of the future energy mix, as well as the role of the “Vinča” Institute in developing professional capacities, providing scientific support, and educating the public in this area. The Institute’s multidisciplinary nature and its ability to connect scientific research with practical applications in industry, medicine, and energy were particularly emphasized, along with ongoing cooperation with international partners.

Representatives of the Embassy of the United States of America highlighted the importance of nuclear energy as source of energy for Serbia, and praised the scientific and research capacities of the “Vinča” Institute.

Director Dr. Dimović underscored the importance of science, education, and institutional cooperation, emphasizing that the “Vinča” Institute, in collaboration with relevant institutions, has the capacity to contribute to this process in accordance with the highest international standards.

The United States, as a country with a long tradition in the field of nuclear energy, represents an important partner in the exchange of knowledge and experience. The meeting concluded that there are solid foundations and potential for further strengthening cooperation between the “Vinča” Institute and relevant U.S. institutions.
