In June 2026, the Vinča Institute welcomed 135 students and their subject teachers from Svetozar Miletić Primary School in Zemun and Bora Stanković Primary School in Karavukovo.
Through discussions with researchers and master’s and doctoral students, the visitors had the opportunity to learn about contemporary scientific research and methods, as well as the objectives and results of international and national projects being carried out at the Vinča Institute.
Interactive exhibits and workshops introduced topics in environmental protection, public health, CBRN security and forensics, the circular economy, biomedical research, sample analysis, and nanotechnology.
The visit
ors were particularly interested in the interactive workshop on proteins, the demonstration of a glovebox used for the safe handling of sensitive materials under controlled conditions, and the presentation of a Tesla coil.
Activities of this kind are an important part of the Vinča Institute’s mission to promote science by bringing contemporary scientific achievements closer to young people and encouraging their interest in the natural and technical sciences.
