At the prestigious World Nuclear Exhibition (WNE) in Paris, the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences signed a highly significant international agreement with Électricité de France (EDF), one of the world's leading companies in the field of nuclear energy. The signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation officially established the foundation for an ambitious scientific, technological, and educational partnership, which is crucial for the future development of Serbian nuclear capacities.
This Memorandum represents a strategic document that goes beyond classic exchange, focusing on the systemic strengthening of professional and scientific personnel. The cooperation encompasses intensive scientific research collaboration, transfer of cutting-edge knowledge, international mobility, and the promotion of responsible nuclear communication.
The International Institute of Nuclear Energy (I2EN), of which EDF is a founder, will play a particularly significant role in the educational component of the partnership. Through I2EN, joint academic projects and student exchanges will be implemented, ensuring the application of the world’s most modern standards in education.
Director's Vision: Strengthening Serbia's Position
The Memorandum was formally signed by Dr. Slavko Dimović, Director of the Vinča Institute, and Mr. Vakisasai Ramany, EDF Senior Vice President for International Nuclear Development.
On this occasion, Director Dr. Dimović emphasized the visionary dimension of this partnership:
"This agreement is not just a mere signing; it represents a historical continuation of the Serbian-French friendship and opens the doors for the Vinča Institute to the expertise of a world leader like EDF. The partnership is crucial for the revitalization and development of the scientific and educational capacities of the Republic of Serbia in the field of nuclear energy, securing our path towards a safe, sustainable, and responsible nuclear future."
By signing the Memorandum, the Vinča Institute confirms its leading role and dedication to the development of nuclear science, thereby directly contributing to the energy stability and technological advancement of Serbia.
