On 29 May 2026, a ceremonial session of the Scientific Council of the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences was held at the Institute’s restaurant.
The session was opened by the President of the Scientific Council, Dr Sandra Kurko. Opening remarks were subsequently delivered by the Director of the Institute, Dr Slavko Dimović, and the President of the Institute’s Governing Board, Prof. Dr Milan Martić.
During the session, the President of the Scientific Council presented the most significant achievements of the Institute in the recent period, highlighting its continuous growth in scientific output, international visibility, and research excellence. Particular attention was devoted to key indicators of scientific performance, including the increasing number of publications in leading international journals, the growing citation impact of the Institute’s researchers, and notable achievements in the education and professional development of early-career researchers.
The central part of the programme was dedicated to the presentation of awards recognizing outstanding scientific achievements. Plaques were presented to researchers who earned their PhD degrees in 2023 and 2024, as well as to Institute scientists included on Stanford University’s prestigious list of the world’s top 2% most influential scientists for the period 2022–2024. Annual awards were also presented for exceptional scientific results achieved in 2023 and 2024.
The ceremonial session provided an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the Institute’s researchers and to recognize colleagues whose work contributes to strengthening the international reputation of the Vinča Institute and advancing science in the Republic of Serbia.
The programme concluded with a group photograph of the participants and a reception.
