Scientists at the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences are engaged in a wide spectrum of research that has a direct impact on daily life and addresses global challenges. From protecting the invaluable artifacts of Nikola Tesla to sterilizing medical equipment and detecting pollutants in food, their work encompasses the resolution of some of the most complex problems. Their contributions range from assisting in the treatment of severe diseases to creating conditions for healthy nutrition for astronauts in space. A team from Beogradska hronika visited the Institute to witness the scope and significance of this scientific work.

The reportage featured four distinguished Centers of Excellence at the Institute: the Center for Hydrogen Energy and Renewable Energy Sources CONVINCE, the Center for the Synthesis, Processing, and Characterization of Materials for Extreme Conditions CEXTREME LAB; the Center for Light Energy Conversion CONVERSE, and the Center of Excellence for Nanomagnetic and Radiolabeled Materials VINCENT. In each of these centers, scientists explained their innovations and projects, emphasizing the key message that science is not reserved only for laboratories but that its achievements are of crucial importance to all of us.
