At the 68th International Fair of Technics and Technical Achievements, the Vinča Institute presented innovations that successfully combine science, sustainability and practical applications in industry and everyday life.
The following solutions were showcased:
- Wand Wound Gel, a bio-based antibacterial hydrogel for wound regeneration, developed as an advanced material designed to support more effective wound healing and protection;
- Nura, a completely natural make-up removal milk produced by Amelles Cosmetics, containing activated carbon derived from spent coffee grounds and combining sustainable cosmetics with the principles of the circular economy;
- A membrane system for the extraction and encapsulation of bioactive compounds, a technology that enables the direct extraction of valuable substances and their encapsulation into stable forms for further use in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries; and
- NID, a simple and affordable system for filtering and neutralising exhaust gases, which uses environmentally friendly clays as a purification medium. A particularly valuable feature of this solution is that the spent material can subsequently be used as fertiliser, thereby completing the entire ecological cycle.
These solutions demonstrate the Vinča Institute’s strong potential to develop innovations with a direct impact on industry, the environment and quality of life.
Special recognition at the Fair was awarded to Vinča Institute researchers Dr Sanja Milošević Govedarović, Dr Tijana Pantić and Dr Ana Mraković. Their NID system received the Grand Award “Step into the future”. This is the third distinction granted to the system, following two gold medals won at previous innovation fairs, further demonstrating both its potential and the need for this type of solution.
To support the further commercialisation of the NID system, Dr Sanja Milošević Govedarović founded SMG Venture d.o.o., the first officially established start-up company originating from the Vinča Institute.
As an associate of the Technology Transfer Sector, she actively contributes to the development and promotion of innovations that connect science with the market, while highlighting the importance of knowledge transfer through practical and experience-based examples.
The Technology Transfer Sector of the Vinča Institute continuously works to ensure that scientific achievements do not remain confined to laboratories, but instead become innovations that shape the future and are accessible to the market, industry and society as a whole.
